K mým nejoblíbenějším počinům téhle autorky patří pohádka pro dospělé Between the Pines a tohle mi ji hodně připomínalo, ale zároveň to bylo úplně nové: další úžasný příběh s podmanivou atmosférou a našlapaný krásnými obrazy. Bard a Thranduil jsou tu přesně takoví, jací by podle mě měli být. Nikdy nepřestanu obdivovat, jak northerntrash dovede bez obšírných popisů prakticky z ničeho vygenerovat pocity a emoce, které se mnou pak zůstávají i dlouho po přečtení povídek. Krásně to vidíte třeba na poslední scéně kintsugi: čtenář prostě ví, jak intimní scéně přihlíží, a přitom nám nebyl odhalen milimetr nahé kůže, nikdo nešeptá sladké nesmysly. O úchvatných popisech mrazivého šalebného a zakletého světa víl, kam Bard zabloudí, ani nemluvě.”
